Project included the construction of a new building for the School of Music at the southwest corner of the intersection of Burlington and Clinton streets, to replace the building destroyed by the 2008 flood. The building includes classrooms, teaching studios, library, faculty and administrative offices, recital spaces and the replacement of a 700-seat recital and organ hall. A particularly harsh winter, along with the discovery of artifacts during excavation at the building site, slowed the project but a timetable was revised to keep the project on target for its mid-2016 completion date. The building's first two floors are concrete, and above that a steel structure that will be a six-story building in total height.

What’s New?

  • Concert Hall Substantial Completion – October 5, 2016 (includes organ voicing and equipment tuning)
  • Opened for Fall 2016 Semester- August 22, 2016
